Metropolitan Woodbridge
People have been meeting in Woodbridge since 1664. Noted for its progressiveness, Woodbridge still has some of that Colonial charm mixed with large modern glass Hi-Tech buildings, modern highways and trains.
Woodbridge in 1992 celebrated 330 years of progress. It is the oldest incorporated community in New Jersey, the sixth largest population (97,203) supporting the fifth largest suburban school system. An All-American City, Woodbridge achieved national recognition of its clean-up campaign for four consecutive years.
Woodbridge is the home of the first permanent printing press (1751) in New Jersey. Our first President, George Washington, lodged at Cross Keys Tavern (1789) on his way to the first Presidential Inauguration in New York. May we invite you to visit our fine community for some of the many ways you to make your pleasure or business trip more enjoyable.
While here, you may like to see some history of our area or the modern in progressive industry, professional buildings, highways, port facilities, metro liner railroads or heliports.
For our friends who live nearby, the finest highways in the world converge on Woodbridge from all points of the eastern corridor, with connections to Newark airport. Actually, Woodbridge is in the center of this entire great eastern complex. Nearby friends will find a large variety of restaurants designed for everything from a satisfying snack to the most gracious dining with entertainment.
People who come from afar will be accorded the same fine transportation facilities, plus many fine hotels especially designed for your comfort.
Woodbridge is centrally located for those who like to mix business with pleasure. Downtown New York is a short trip by train or bus (40 minutes) and the famous New Jersey shore is equally close.
